My Son the Autodidact

With scarcely any instruction from me, and no shoving whatsoever, my son came up with this.

He is leaving me in the dust.

Impressive -- not that I understand a word of it. Is it out of line to ask what the gadget does?

I understand about being left in the dust, my son soared past us before he was twelve. Since then I merely nod my head when he tells me what he's doing. Now my eleven year granddaughter is about to break into orbit.

Isn't it wonderful!

"Like it or else." is also the perfect blog slogan. Why didn't I think of that?

Is it out of line to ask what the gadget does?It prints "Hello World".

Seemingly trivial, but the tutorial shows the essential steps to putting functions into a web page.

The most gratifying thing, though, is his taking deep interest in something complex, and working it out for himself.

I have offered him a couple general pointers along the way, but, other than that, I have just sat back and watched it unfold.

Trivial? Not so, it's prototype for creating whatever a user would like to do and with a sense of humor.

Kudos Neil ... and I do like it.

Well, his name is actually Eric.

How he got from there to eneilshade is a mystery to me.
